What our clients say

  • Stefan Kübitz
Programme Manager IT Customer & Sales

“I am very impressed by [the auticon consultant]. He works quickly and confidently and delivers high-quality results. He tested and documented thousands of lines of code in about four months – if we had asked the developers to do this on top of their regular tasks, it might have taken 12–18 months. We are very satisfied.”

    – Zurich

  • Dr Thomas Seeger
    Head of Software Development

“For us, the auticon consultant’s involvement has absolutely delivered the added value we hoped for. His extremely sharp eye and very high quality standards during testing are worth their weight in gold to us.”

     – Deichmann

  • Francesca Porta
    Global IT Strategy

“Already after a few hours we understood we were dealing with a different, yet complementary, way of working… Today, the auticon consultant is an integral part of the team and the quality of the testing has exceeded expectations.”

    – Autogrill

  • Rainer Degenhardt
    Programme Manager

“The creative reorganisation of the test case processing by both consultants enabled more than 1,000 test cases to be processed within two days. Both consultants were able and willing to take on tasks beyond test execution in this project, including very dynamic change and configuration management. They did a particularly excellent job of grouping identified issues into clusters of error types. We are more than satisfied with the speed and quality of the auticon consultants.”

    – Siemens

  • Stefan Pchalek
Senior Manager IT Billing Rental Fleet, IT Business Process Solutions

“We covered the training material in two and a half days that was actually designed to take four days. There were good, productive discussions. The proactive approach of the auticon specialists repeatedly surprised me in a positive way. The auticon staff assigned to us had very different strengths. One was more of an analytical visionary, whilst another meticulously worked out the details of the test cases. Each of them was exactly the right person for the role they were assigned to. We received a highly sophisticated technical solution and an immense transfer of knowledge, and we wouldn’t have wanted to miss out on the human experience.”

    – Hoyer

  • Jaroslav Bláha
    CTO

Expanding our pool of diverse contributors by partnering with auticon’s consultants was a very smooth process. This is a sign of how well auticon’s professionalism fits with trivago’s open culture.”

    – trivago

  • Sven Oelschläger
    Head of Application Governance

“The auticon consultant not only achieved outstanding results for his project – with his clever ideas and results-oriented thinking, he also had a positive influence on the entire team. He was a real asset to us, exceeding our expectations. Thanks to his smooth and effortless integration into the existing project team and his meticulous attention to detail, we were able to benefit from his leadership right from the start.”

How We Deliver QA & Testing

We support every phase of the software testing life cycle, from early requirements analysis to test execution, defect management and continuous improvement. By working closely with your stakeholders, tools and delivery processes, we create a testing approach that fits your systems, timelines and release goals.

Requirements analysis

We review requirements, user stories and business objectives to identify what needs to be tested, where risks may appear and how coverage should be measured. This can include a test traceability matrix, test coverage review and assessment of automation feasibility.

Test planning

We define the right testing strategy, scope and methodology for your project. This includes test effort estimation, roles and responsibilities, tooling, risk management, defect management and alignment with product owners, business analysts and delivery teams.

Test development and environment setup

We create test suites, test cases and test scripts based on agreed scenarios, user journeys and acceptance criteria. We also support test data preparation, environment setup and configuration for manual, automated and hybrid testing approaches.

Test execution

We execute test cases and scripts according to the test plan, capture and analyse results, log defects and retest fixes once they have been addressed by the development team.

Test management and consulting

We can support test strategy, process assessment, test suite audits, defect lifecycle management, Agile/Scrum testing practices and UAT best practices to improve quality across the full delivery cycle.

The Edge Effect in Quality Assurance

High-quality testing is not only about following test scripts. It is about noticing inconsistencies, edge cases and unexpected behaviours before they become user-facing problems.

Different cognitive perspectives can improve defect detection, test coverage and consistency across complex systems. In QA and testing, this helps teams identify issues earlier, reduce rework and release with greater confidence.

We call this Edge Thinking.

The advantage created when different ways of thinking come together to solve complex problems.

In quality assurance, that leads to more precise testing, stronger coverage, clearer defect reporting and more reliable software over time.

How do you test AI-powered systems?

AI systems require a different testing methodology from traditional software. We test LLM output consistency and hallucination rates, model behaviour under unexpected inputs, AI API reliability and error handling, output bias and regression across model versions.

What's the difference between manual QA testing and test case automation?

Manual QA involves human testers reviewing requirements, writing test plans and executing test cases, essential for exploratory testing, edge case detection and scenarios that require judgement. Test case automation creates scripts that run automatically on each release, providing fast regression coverage at scale. Most effective QA strategies use both.

What is shift-left testing?

Shift-left testing means involving QA earlier in the development cycle, during requirement analysis and sprint planning rather than after development is complete. Defects caught early cost significantly less to fix than defects found in production. We support shift-left approaches as standard.

What accessibility standards do you test against?

We test against WCAG 2.1 and ADA Section 508 for websites and mobile applications. Testing covers both automated checks and manual verification, because automated tools alone identify only a subset of accessibility issues. We extend scope to AI-generated content and AI-powered interfaces where relevant.

What does disaster recovery testing involve?

We test core functionality of critical applications in DR environments, validating that your recovery plan works before a cyberattack or infrastructure failure proves it doesn’t. This includes AI systems, inference pipelines and model availability alongside traditional IT systems.

What is ISTQB?

The International Software Testing Qualifications Board sets the globally recognised certification standard for software testers. Our QA teams are experienced working within ISTQB frameworks. Certification coverage varies by country and consultant, we confirm the specifics during scoping.

Can you work with our existing test suite and tooling?

Yes. We start with a gap analysis of your existing test suite to identify what’s covered, what’s missing and where automation adds the most value.
