Our working model

“It’s all about providing value for the client”

Easy together

At Unicus, we are experts in our field and we know that we might be doing things a little differently compared to what people are used to. However, it is really not that strange. We simply make sure to create the right conditions for our consultants, without impacting the client’s work methodology and routines.

Our business model is based on transparency and clarity. Even before an assignment, we prepare our consultants for what is to come.

In order to increase clarity for our consultants, we request that each assignment shall have a designated person to whom we can turn to for questions – a workbuddy. The workbuddy is tasked with being available and coordinating the progress of things.

Alongside the relevant consultant, we discuss the strengths and challenges they may have and address those during a brief meeting with the appointed workbuddy, all before the assignment begins. Most of the time, our transparency and assurance to the consultant that there is awareness of their potential challenges proves sufficient. This awareness means that their energy isn’t wasted on hiding their various tendencies, which in turn eases how they experience challenging situations.

We always meet with the team with whom our consultant will work in, introducing them to what autism is and the strengths and challenges that may be associated with people with autism.

“We believe in routines and structure across everything we do”

Repetition builds knowledge and profitability

Orderliness and structure are core tenets for Unicus for several reasons. Our employees enjoy and appreciate structure. They want to know what is going on, and if one day feels similar to the next, it provides them with safety and efficiency.

We, the managers at Unicus, do not have autism, but routines and structure are central even for us. To get what we want, we must work smarter. Our goal is to create a business model to follow and continuously develop. This reduces our dependence on individuals and enable us to dedicate more time to our employees and clients.

“Autism – the advantage of the Unicus offering”

Our goal is to present ourselves as honest, transparent, and compassionate throughout the recruitment process.

Applying to Unicus is a little different. No resumé or cover letter is required. You simply answer the questions presented in our form to give us all information we need. If you might be what we’re looking for, we will summon you to an initial discussion. This interview use the fact that all our tech consultants have autism as a starting point. If you want to, we could be the ones asking questions. You need not keep the conversation going or talk freely on your own. If you want to arrive early, you are more than welcome. Ring the doorbell and take a seat. During the interview, we will be curious about your previous experience, your future plans, your activities outside of work, and naturally, what your strengths are. We will also want to explore your challenges, all with the purpose of together determining if you will fit in and feel well in among us.

What follows the first interview varies. If we both beleive this to be a good match, you will be summoned to a second interview where you will meet another Unicus leader. As leaders, we don’t check in with each other about your candidacy between the interviews, so you will likely be asked the same questions again. This is to allow all of us involved to form a less biased image of each other.

If you are not summoned to a second interview, it is most likely due to lack of some of the skills relevant to us at the time. We will always inform you of what is lacking. Our conclusion might also be that the position as a Unicus consultant is not right for you even with the skills.

After an initial interview, you will be assigned some tests. Here you can read our intentions with these.

Our goal is to employ every applicant with the right competencies, but since we need to find clients and assignments for every consultant, we are limited. Sometimes, we may also meet customers with unique requirements from what we’ve encountered before, which can mean that talent that we previously declined is now relevant. If you have agreed to remain in our system, maybe that talent is you!
