auticon has been operational in the UK since 2016, and currently employs around 30 people here. The company is part of the auticon group which operates in Germany, France, the UK, the US, Italy, Canada and Switzerland.

We are a certified social enterprise and DWP Disability Confident Level 3 Leader.

We have reviewed our current policies and practices in the context of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and summarise findings below:

Our Employees

All our employees are paid above minimum wage and receive in excess of the statutory entitlement to paid leave. We believe that we take the necessary steps to provide a safe working environment for all employees, including those employees working at client premises. We operate flexible working policies within certain guidelines and ensure that we consider all requests for flexible working or adjustments in hours.

Consultants are our largest employee group, currently around 65% of our workforce. auticon exclusively recruits people on the autism spectrum as our consultants. In addition to the support provided by their line manager, all consultants are supported by a job coach. Job coaches are employed by auticon and work to ensure that consultants have a positive experience of working for us.

  • Job coach support is bespoke, but typically involves:
  • undertaking a risk assessment of client premises to ensure they are able to provide a safe working environment for our consultant
  • providing autism training to the client and their employees for the mutual benefit of the client/consultant working relationship
  • Meeting regularly (usually weekly) with the consultant to support them to manage their own health and wellbeing at work.

Our Supply Chain

We have a small supply chain of companies that provide facilities, office space equipment, pensions and health insurance. We do not outsource any part of our operations to subcontractors and do not currently employ agency workers.

When engaging suppliers, we are committed to ensuring they have policies in place to prevent Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, and as due diligence will review the company websites of suppliers or potential suppliers to ensure they demonstrate a stated commitment to the prevention of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.

Our Policies

We have the following policies in place which we have identified as being relevant to our responsibility to prevent slavery and human trafficking. All employees must read and sign these policies, contained in an employee handbook, upon joining the company.

  • Health & Safety Policy
  • Financial Crime Policy (Anti-Bribery and Corruption)
  • Equality & Diversity Policy
  • Anti-Harassment and Bullying Policy
