The City of Helsinki is Finland’s capital and largest municipality, delivering digital public services to over 650,000 residents.

The Challenge

The city needed to improve the accessibility of its digital services, from early concept design to published websites and documents, while ensuring compliance and usability for all citizens, including those with disabilities.

The Solution

Since 2020, Unicus has supported Helsinki with accessibility audits, consulting, and training. Technologists Emmi Nyqvist and Eero Helanen contributed to components design, audits, content remediation, and workshops—offering deep engagement across the full accessibility lifecycle.
